Pozzallo being the only port in the Province of Ragusa, is called for the import of raw and semi-manufactured materials (marble, granite, aluminium in billets, sawnwoods, hardboard), cargo in bulks (mais, soyabeanmeal, barley and beans destined to the important lve-stock of the entire Province) and the export of bagged polyethylene on pallets, cement in bulk.
Presently vessels carry out loading/discharging operations at the COMMERCIAL QUAY, having a lenght of 570 meters and a back large-square of abt. 36,000 square meters.
The navigation inside the Port is allowed to vessels berthing and/or unberthing with a draught of no more tan 9,30 meters, in full immersion conditions.
Port services work: VHF channel 10 - Harbour Master: VHF channel 16
CATANIA AIRPORT (thee nearest one) is 130 kms. far from Pozzallo.

Geographical Position:

Long. 14° 50,2' East
Anchorage Zones: The anchorage is exclusively allowed in the strip of sea situated at East of Pozzallo town, delimited by the followiing geographical co-ordinates:
A) At North from the barymetrics of the 20 meters;
B) At South from the parallel of latitude 36° 40';
C) At East from the meridian of langitude 014° 53';
D) At West from thee meridian of longitude 014° 52'.
Forbidden anchorages and vessels stay in the zone of sea below indicated, being the entering channel into the Port:
A) Lat. 36° 43' N - Long. 014° 50,6' E
B) Lat. 36° 43' N - Long. 014° 51,3' E
C) Lat. 36° 41,65' N - Long. 014° 50,6' E
D) Lat. 36° 41,65' N - Long. 014° 51,3' E
NATIONAL HOLIDAYS: the same as in all italian ports and the 7th October, local religious Holiday.
PORT SERVICES:
Pilotage and mooring/unmooring services are compulsory for vessels over 500 GRT.
PORT FACILITIES:
Fresh water can be supplied by road-tanker.
Bunkers can be supplied by road-tanker, stemmed with Gela and Augusta Refineries.
Watchmen and garbage services not available.
Small repairs to hull and engine can be carried out by local workshops.
